Abstract:Herein, we present an efficient and atom‐economic tandem hydroformylation organocatalyzed Friedel‐Crafts reaction sequence for the synthesis of diindolylmethanes. Classic syntheses have relied on (Lewis) acid activation of aldehydes, which are often not commercially available and rather sensitive in handling.
