The current article recommends the incorporation of blockchain technology in scientific peer review to address concerns about scalability, data privacy, and the necessity of agreement among involved parties. It also highlights the potential for enhanced transparency and security provided by blockchain-based peer review systems. The chapter suggests automating the process of compensating or rewarding peer reviewers based on transparency and quality evaluation criteria. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of promoting transparency in AI algorithms to ensure that manuscripts are matched with the most suitable reviewers based on their expertise and minimize potential biases. It also mentions the use of customized publisher tailored AI algorithms to analyze the text of reviews, providing feedback to reviewers, and the need for publishers to clearly disclose the use of AI algorithms in their processes.
