Abstract:Intermetallic TiAl alloys for aero-engine turbine blade applications show good thermomechanical properties and excellent creep resistance. These alloys consist of multiphase intermetallic constituents, mainly of γ-TiAl and α2-Ti3Al intermetallic phases, which are arranged in the form of lamellar colonies and globular grains. Characterizing these alloys for room and high temperature behaviour is an ongoing issue that needs to be solved by using a synergic approach of experimental and numerical methods.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
