A test case for validation of magnetic field analysis with vector hysteresis

Abstract: An experimental setup, made up of a three-limbed ferromagnetic core fitted with pickup coils, has been designed and built to be used as test bench for validation of magnetic field analysis with hysteresis. Unidirectional or rotational flux patterns and distorted waveforms can be generated by modifying the supply conditions of the coils. A detailed description of the structure with its supply and pickup coils is given. The analysis has been developed under different operating conditions. The experimental result… Show more

“…Since in the hysteresis model introduced in Section 2.1, the constitutive relation is described in terms of ODEs as those shown in (1) and (2), the question now becomes how these ODEs can be solved accurately and efficiently. In this section, the accurate solution of the ODE (2) is discussed because the relative differential reluctivityν d r is used in the TDFEM formulation (23). Specifically, Euler's method and the Runge-Kutta method are investigated.…”

“…Here, we investigate such a phenomenon using the model adopted from TEAM workshop problem 32 [47], where a three-limbed ferromagnetic core is considered. As shown in With the 10-Hz sinusoidal current excitation, the magnetic flux density is solved and shown in Fig.…”
