“…To spark interest among younger students as well, the starting point could be positive learning experiences acquired during clinical placements in nursing homes, for instance. Suggestively, students with an opportunity to develop nurse competencies and grow into the nursing role can be motivated to choose OPN as their future career (Husebø et al, 2018 ; McAllister et al, 2020 ).
