Overcoming classroom challenges is not always straightforward. It is well-known that educators face stress due to various reasons, such as familiar problems, overwork, multiple activities of the teacher, student problems, new methodologies and teaching tools, etc. As a university professor we perceive innumerable situations where students cannot control and / or solve their own conflicts, therefore, they allow these problems to affect their personal, social, physical and even mental health. This research aimed to explore how university educators in the Lambayeque region perceive the relationship between resilience and Burnout Syndrome. The sample comprised 300 faculty members from accredited institutions in Lambayeque. This study used a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive correlational design. Questionnaires on resilience and Burnout Syndrome were employed since they have proven to be valid, reliable, and supported by substantial evidence. The results demonstrated a statistically significant association between the two variables, with a moderate negative correlation (sig. 0.05), lending credibility to the alternative hypothesis. Among the surveyed professors, 61.7% expressed intentions to focus on becoming more resilient, while 36.37% stated they exhibited external symptoms of the aforementioned condition. According to the findings, the risk of educators developing this condition decreases as they enhance their resilience. Psychological burnout is strongly associated with negative effects on people’s life, including their emotional well-being and physical health. Due to prolonged periods of stress, heavy workloads, limited resources and time constraints, teachers are prone to burnout, leading to aversive, prolonged consequences. While previous studies have investigated various factors associated with their burnout, we explored the association between teachers’ relational and personal variables, applying a cross-sectional method. The sample consisted of 248 Israeli teachers (85.1% worked in educational settings for typically developing children, 52.4% were employed in high schools), who completed the following questionnaires: Teachers’ burnout, Perceived social support, Gratitude, Hope, Active entitlement and Loneliness. Results demonstrated negative links between burnout and social support, gratitude and hope as well as a positive link with loneliness. A serial multiple mediation revealed that, whereas social support and hope were associated with lower levels of burnout, feelings of loneliness and a sense of entitlement were related to higher levels of it. Furthermore, gratitude, hope, a sense of entitlement, and loneliness linked social support with burnout. We concluded with a discussion of the implications for future research, theory, and interventions.

This study examines and analyses the effect of Islamic emotional intelligence, work-life balance, and burnout on organizational commitment. In addition, this study also examines and analyzes the role of burnout in mediating the effect of Islamic emotional intelligence and work-life balance on organizational commitment. Respondents in this study were female employees who worked at the Ministry of Religion in Pekanbaru, Riau, with a total of 73 respondents. The sampling technique was carried out by saturated sampling or census with SEM-PLS statistical analysis. The results showed that (i) Islamic emotional intelligence has an effect on organizational commitment, (ii) work-life balance has an effect on organizational commitment, (iii) burnout has an effect on organizational commitment, (iv) Islamic emotional intelligence has an effect on burnout, (v) work-life balance affects burnout, (vi) burnout can mediate the effect of Islamic emotional intelligence on organizational commitment, (vii) burnout can mediate the effect of work-life balance on organizational commitment.
