A Theory-based Clinical Nurse Specialist Practice Exemplar Using Neuman's Systems Model and Nursing's Taxonomies

Abstract: This article illustrates the process of theory-based advanced nursing practice by presenting an exemplar of clinical nurse specialist practice using Neuman's systems model and nursing's taxonomies. A brief explanation of Neuman's systems model is given, and the process of assessment, diagnosis, and planned outcomes/interventions is fully described. A clinical example illustrates the entire process.
