Abstract: Grain boundary grooves of nickel were studied in Ni polycrystals and in Ni/YSZ (nickel/yttria-stabilized zirconia) anode microstructures of an solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) in order to determine the relative grain boundary energies of nickel.
