A throughput method using the quick easy cheap effective rugged safe method for the quantification of ibuprofen and its main metabolites in soils

Abstract: Quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe extraction is a modern sample preparation method that involves a number of steps with a low susceptibility to error. The efficiency of a laboratory can be improved not only through labor reduction and consumable savings but also through the use of high-throughput methods and the reduction of wastes. In commercially available kits, different salts and buffers are mixed in anhydrous packages. The composition of these kits are optimized and fixed for particular appl… Show more

“…The QuEChERS method has received worldwide acceptance because of its flexible and high throughput, avoiding the use of toxic organic solvents. This approach allows the processing of a significantly larger number of samples in a brief period . HPLC–MS/MS with triple quadrupole instruments in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode is a powerful technique for quantitative analysis of pesticides in environmental samples, owing to its high selectivity, flexibility, short analytical runtime, and wide applicability with good practicability .…”

“…Therefore, acetonitrile was used as the extraction reagent to maximize the extraction of residual pesticides in the matrix and minimize interferences. QuEChERS is commonly used as a pretreatment method because of simple, rapid operation and low cost [ 30 , 31 , 32 ]. In the QuEChERS sample pretreatment method, the extracted pesticide must be further purified to remove interferences from other extracts to increase the signal-to-noise ratio.…”

“…To handle simpler expressions, the nonsignificant terms (e.g., below the 95% confidence level) of the obtained empirical mathematical equations could be removed [ 32 ]. However, a proper demonstration of the suitability of this action is required.…”
