A toughening indole‐based epoxy film with efficient anti‐counterfeiting properties driven by cation–π interaction

Qiaolin Tang,
Lu Yuan,
Ming Kang
et al.

Abstract: A strong and tough indole‐based epoxy film driven by cation–π interaction is designed, evading the trade‐off between stiffness and extensibility in epoxy resins. The film with high strength, toughness and effective anti‐counterfeiting properties induced by cation–π interaction is promising in the development of the fields of aerospace and electronic devices. © 2023 Society of Industrial Chemistry.

“…The synthetic procedure for preparing 1-(oxiran-2-ylmethyl)-1 H -indole (INE) followed previously reported methods described in our work. γ-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane (APTES) was procured from Shanghai Aladdin Reagent Co., Ltd. Potassium bromide (KBr, spectral purity, SP) was sourced from Shanghai Macklin Reagent Co., Ltd. Tetraethoxysilane (TEOS), anhydrous ethanol, ammonium hydroxide (25–28%), and toluene were all acquired from Chengdu Kelong Reagent Co., Ltd. Deionized water was produced in-house within a laboratory setting . Unless otherwise specified, all solvents were purchased from commercial sources and used as received, and all of the chemical reagents used in this experiment were analytical grade without further purification.…”
