A Triboelectric Closed‐Loop Sensing System for Authenticity Identification of Paper‐Based Artworks

Abstract: Nondestructive testing (NDT) is crucial technology for authenticity identification of paper‐based artworks. Emerging optical spectroscopy is an important technique of NDT at present, by which high‐bightness light, electron beams, and rays could cause permanent damage to different types of paper‐based artworks. Here, using only NDT technology, triboelectric closed‐loop sensing system (TE‐CLSS) is developed by contact electrification effect. It is composed of a stethoscope‐like triboelectric nanogenerator (SL‐TE… Show more

“…Electronic stethoscopes and accelerometers are the two effective and frequently-used methods to detect passive mechanical signals. The electronic stethoscopes can translate the vibration vibrations of their diaphragm into electric signals by piezoelectric [67] or triboelectric [68] materials. Unlike the ultra-thin and weak structure of electronic stethoscopes [69], the accelerometers have strong and durable designs.…”

“…TENG is based on the coupling of triboelectrification and electrostatic induction, which is the application of Maxwell's displacement current in energy and sensors [18]. Due to the unique working mechanism, TENGs have some advantages over EMGs, such as being light weight [19][20][21], low cost [22][23][24][25], having a wide material-selection range [26][27][28][29], and low-frequency adaptation [30][31][32][33]. After 10 years of development, TENGs have exhibited great capabilities in harvesting mechanical energy from various sources, providing a new effective strategy for ocean wave energy exploitation [29].…”
