A triple band antenna for a wireless USB dongle

Abstract: In this paper, a novel triple band (f1, f2, f3) antenna for Universal Serial Bus (USB) dongle applications is proposed. The proposed antenna is made up a monopole antenna along with top and bottom parasitic resonators. f1 is obtained by the whole length of the antenna. The monopole antenna acts as the main radiator for f3 and also as the coupling feeding structure for the parasitic resonators in f1, f2. The f2 resonance is obtained by connecting the top and bottom parasitic resonators through a via. The 10dB r… Show more

“…In order to maintain compact size and achieve the required frequency band, the designs used double-sided approach [3][4] are published. The design used bent structure [5] on the top of the antenna to shrink the antenna size was proposed. A design using fractal monopole [6] to achieve the USB application was presented.…”

“…Antenna using a simple singlesided design to achieve simplification performance is desirable for applications. And, the width of the USB antenna should be narrow to meet the requirements of portable devices [5][6]. In the paper, a printed monopole with a size of 12 × 10 mm 2 produces good bandwidth and radiation performances is proposed and investigated.…”
