A Visible-Light-Driven Approach to Free Alcohol from Esters of Quinone Propionic Acid

Abstract: Releasing alcohol from QPEs propelled by visible-light was reported. 1o, 2o and allylic alcohols could be freed from corresponding QPEs under radiation of blue LED bulb in the presence of photocatalyst. Ten examples have been listed and yields are good to excellent. Possible mechanism has been proposed at the end of this paper. Further application of QPA in photochemistry would be inspired thereof.
