Abstract:In this work, we propose a novel selective discontinuity sensor approach for numerical simulations of the compressible Navier–Stokes equations. Since transformation to characteristic space is already a common approach to reduce high-frequency oscillations during interpolation to cell interfaces, we exploit the characteristic wave structure of the Euler equations to selectively treat the various waves that the equations comprise. The approach uses the Ducros shock sensing criterion to detect and limit oscillati… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
