A WSN Clustering Multi-Hop Routing Protocol Using Cellular Virtual Grid in IoT Environment

Abstract: By dividing the grid and clustering multi-hop algorithm, the lifetime of WSN can be prolonged effectively, and the reliability of the system can be improved. In order to prolong network lifetime and balance network energy consumption, a WSN clustering multi-hop routing protocol for electric vehicles using cellular virtual grid is proposed. The routing mechanism divides cells into regular hexagons. In the cluster head selection stage, the node angle ratio, distance ratio, and throughput optimization threshold f… Show more

“…The overhead is reduced through the minimizing of the exchanged control messages, so the time and the energy are saved during the route discovery process. These three protocols [7][8][9] improve the networks performance in terms of energy consumption and lifetime.…”

“…(5) We consider the energy consumption problem of WSNs at the level of single nodes and the whole network. (6) Through the analysis of wireless sensor nodes including hardware, software, and collaboration between them, low-power consumption and high-reliability electronic components are selected to minimize component loss and meet the requirements. In choosing software, the ability to extract characteristic signals from the sensor unit and transmit them in fewer data frame formats is considered to reduce energy consumption during data transmission.…”

“…In this research article, algorithms developed for localization are utilized to limit the mistake of arbitrarily dispersed WSNs through some modest number of anchor sensors, and in any case, the ideal deployment areas for these sensors will be found by understanding the evolutionary algorithm. The quantity of associated beacon nodes is one of the main elements influencing the system accuracy for the localization algorithm, whether or not it is the range-based estimation or range-free factors [ 13 , 14 ]. Enough-associated known nodes permit more prominent position exactness.…”
