Abstract:For the present study, 10 bacterial strains were isolated from agriculture field soils collected from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India, and thereafter screened for amylase activity. Among them, the strain DS5 showed a maximum zone of clearance on the starch hydrolysis test was selected for this study.
