Abstract:Background:Calcium pyrophosphate deposition (CPPD) disease, alternatively known as pseudogout, is a type of arthropathy caused by a deposition of microcrystals of calcium pyrophosphate (CaPPi) in joint tissues, particularly in fibrocartilage and hyaline cartilage.
