Abstract:BackgroundSharp described Mixed Connective Tissue Disease (MCTD) in 19721. MCTD is characterised by the presence of Raynaud phenomenon, puffy hands, synovitis, acrosclerosis, myositis and positive anti-ribonucleoprotein (RNP) antibodies.
