Abdominal Fat Reduction through Cryolipolysis

Abstract: Although several studies showed the efficacy and safety from this procedure, the comparative assessment of adipose tissue by cryolipolysis has not been studied until now. Therefore we investigated the quantitative change of cross sectional areas of abdominal SAT (subcutaneous adipose tissue) and VAT (visceral adipose tissue) following cryolipolysis. A prospective study for twelve subjects with a single session of cryolipolysis on abdomen was performed. We assessed for their height, weight, and waist circumfere… Show more

“…A previous study reported that a single session of both lateral cryolipolysis to the abdomen over both "love handles" showed a significant reduction in VAT, by 16.2 cm 2 (11.4%), over a period of 8 weeks [23]. This was comparable to our findings of a 15.64% reduction VAT crosssectional area on the treated abdomen compared to that in the control abdomen (1.2 cm 2 , 3.6%).…”

“…The durability of the effectiveness of cryolipolysis has been demonstrated by Eric, who reported in his article, the case study of two patients who were managed unilaterally by cryolipolysis on one flank and followed up photographically after 6 and 9 years, the fat reduction of the treated flank was observed to be durable despite variations in body weight (Bernstein, 2016). There is no proof that the fat cells lost and destructed by intense cold exposure could redevelop again (Lee & Lee, 2018).…”

“…It has been suggested that a protruding suprapubic fat slopes with age and exaggerate obesity. When it invades the penis, it can initiate bacterial and fungal growth with subsequent chronic infection and scar development that may progress to a completely buried penis (Lee & Lee, 2018).…”
