“…Four of those papers could not be translated (two from the Czech Republic, one from Norway and one from Hungary) and five papers could not be obtained. Thus 106 papers were found suitable for inclusion [1,10–113]. There were two randomized trials [1,10], three case–control series [11–13], 14 prospective studies, 77 retrospective studies and 10 were non‐specified.…”

“…5 The use of the zipper allows for the gentle lysis of adhesions to permit access to loculation, and the early detection and management of complications. 17 Contrast-enhanced CT is well established as an irreplaceable tool for the diagnosis of pancreatic and peripancreatic necrosis. [18][19][20] It is also very useful for the localization of necrotic areas 20,21 and makes quantification of the extent of necrosis possible.…”

“…However, in some cases, the surgeon is forced to leave the open abdomen tactic that is associated with a mortality rate of 30% [1][2][3] . The open abdomen technique (AA) is a surgical strategy used in patients with related life-threatening intraabdominal hemorrhage, prevention or treatment of intraabdominal hypertension and treatment of intra-abdominal sepsis.…”
