Abstract:The influence of pH and of added lattice and certain non-lattice ions has been studied towards the instantaneous sorption of tracer 51CrO42– species on ignited lead sulphate and barium as carrier surfaces. As expected, an increase in the carrier capacity is observed with increasing pH and lattice cation concentration. However, non-lattice cations (Ba2+ and Sr2+ ions) with a similar charge and ionic dimensions exhibit abnormal behaviour on the surface of PbSO4, and Sr2+ ions behave in a similar fashion on the s… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
