Abstract:Introduction:
The transfer of children from the pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (PCICU) to the ward is a time of great anxiety for the parents of children and medical vulnerability for children who are receiving complex therapies.
Hypothesis:
We assessed the hypothesis that parental presence at bedside transfer rounds would reduce parental anxiety and improve patient safety following transfer of children from PCICU to the ward.
