Abstract:Introduction:
Patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) suffer from premature coronary heart disease (CHD) due to extreme elevations in low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C). As such, they require high doses of potent statins, a major risk factor for developing statin-induced myopathy.
