Abstract 2879: Mechanisms of integration for androgen receptor and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase signaling in estrogen receptor negative class A breast cancer
Abstract:Effective targeted therapies for estrogen receptor-negative, progesterone receptor-negative breast cancer remains elusive. Previously, we identified a new subclass of ER- / PR- / AR+ breast cancers as Class A [1]. Class A breast cancer derived cell lines are growth inhibited by anti-androgens (bicalutamide) and stimulated by testosterone [1]. Interestingly, these cell lines harbor mutations in the PIK3CA gene leading to persistent activation of the PI3Kinase pathway [2,3]. In this report we examined the incide… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
