Abstract: Metastasis poses significant obstacles to effective therapy and drug development. Melanoma differentiation-associated gene-9/Syntenin-1/Syndecan Binding Protein (MDA-9) is a pro-metastatic gene robustly and differentially expressed in cancer cells in comparison with corresponding adjacent normal/primary cells and represents an attractive therapeutic target to inhibit cancer cell dissemination and tumor growth.
