Abstract: Introduction: Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a cytologically malignant tumour of the central nervous system, associated with poor prognosis and fatal outcome (5 year survival, <6%). GBM cancer stem cells (CSCs), which can be identified using the immunocytochemical marker CD133, are associated with poor prognosis.
