Abstract: Background: Epidemiologic studies demonstrate that obesity-associated basal-like breast cancer is an aggressive subtype and as a triple negative subtype, no targeted therapies are currently available. Basal-like breast cancer (BBC) is often diagnosed in young and African American women.
