Abstract: Background: Peripheral neuropathy is a dose-limiting toxicity of most microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic agents. Ixabepilone, a semisynthetic analog of the natural epothilone B, has activity in a wide range of tumors including taxane-resistant disease.
