Abstract: Background: Axillary lymph node metastasis is associated with a high risk of breast cancer recurrence and is the single most powerful predictor of patient prognosis. Various imaging tests alone or in combination with preoperative fine needle aspiration (FNA) cytology are used to evaluate suspicious lymph nodes (LNs).
