Abstract P6-14-17: Endomucins and their expression in breast cancer and the cellular and therapeutic impact

Abstract: Introduction. Endomucin-1 and endomucin-2 are two proteins structurally related, yet with low homology. The membrane bound sialoglycoproteins appear to play a key role in interfering with the formation of focal adhesion complexes (FAC) and matrix adhesiveness of cells, by mechanisms independent of the MUC1 repeat, which the endomucins do not possess.
