Abstract: Integrins have become a target for novel therapeutic strategies against malignant gliomas. Cilengitide, a synthetic Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD)-motif peptide, interferes with ligand binding to avb3 and avb5 integrins and is currently investigated in clinical trials.
