Abstract: Currently, zinc-filled coatings capable of providing protection against corrosion through a barrier and tread mechanism are becoming increasingly widespread. When exposed to an aggressive environment, the coating prevents steel corrosion by “healing” the damage. In this way, the corrosion process slows down, and the by-products formed during the activation of zinc are able to fill the space left by the defect.
