Abstract:The Qaidam Basin is a big intermountain Mesozoic-Cenozoic petroliferous basin in western China. The huge thickness Cenozoic strata and tectonic deformation formed a good combination of hydrocarbon sources, reservoirs and caps, leading to huge hydrocarbon potential of the basin.
