Accurate Analysis of Formose Reaction Products by LC–UV: An Analytical Challenge

Abstract: This study presents a liquid chromatography-ultraviolet (LC-UV) method for the accurate analysis of formose reaction products with regard to sum parameters. Limitations encountered in gas chromatography (e.g., thermal stability of analytes) were overcome. First, alditols are O-benzoylated and subjected to reversed-phase chromatography.
