Abstract:Existing SNP-heritability estimation methods that leverage GWAS summary statistics produce estimators that are less efficient than the restricted maximum likelihood (REML) estimator using individual-level data under linear mixed models (LMMs). Improving statistical efficiency, i.e., increasing the precision and reducing the variance of a heritability estimator, is particularly important for regional analyses, as local genetic variances tend to be small. We introduce a new estimator for local heritability, "HEE… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
