Abstract: Achalasia is characterised by incomplete relaxation of the lower oesophageal sphincter and aberrant oesophageal peristaltic activity resulting in impaired oesophageal emptying. This rare condition in pregnancy is unique as both the disease and its treatment are associated with fetomaternal risks and complications.
