Achieving Excellent Properties of Cu-Ni-Si Copper Alloy by Cold Rolling and Electropulsing Aging

Abstract: Cold-rolled Cu-Ni-Si copper alloys were aged by electropulsing directly without the help of a furnace, and excellent strength and electrical conductivity were achieved. The strength and electrical conductivity reach 815 MPa and 38.9% IACS respectively for the sample aged by electropulsing with the frequency of 200 Hz for 10 min. The maximum electrical conductivity of samples, aged by electropulsing with the frequency of 400 Hz for 10 min, reaches 41.6% IACS. The conductivity of the sample aged at 200-400 Hz fo… Show more

“…Zhu J et al [23] performed EPT on the pure copper sheets formed by the repetitive roll-bending and straightening (RRBS) process, and the results showed that the grain size of EPTed samples was refined and the elongation was improved, but did not provide a detailed analysis of the thermal and non-thermal effects and their synergistic effects of EPT as well as their respective extent of contribution. Zhu R et al [24] found that the strength, plasticity and conductivity of cold-rolled Cu-Ni-Si alloy were enhanced after EPT, the reason for which was that the electropulsing and dislocation affect the nucleation and growth of precipitates.…”
