Abstract

Achieving healthcare operational excellence through supply chain risk management: what are the necessary and sufficient conditions? Pedro Senna (CEFET/RJ -PEP/COPPE/UFRJ) Lino Guimarães Marujo (PEP/COPPE/UFRJ) Ana Carla de Souza Gomes dos Santos (IFRJ)The healthcare supply chain is burdened with significant challenges that go beyond the typical supply chains, as their primary objective is to save lives and not just avoid bankruptcy. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019 highlighted that any disruption to the healthcare supply chain can cause disruptions to other supply chains. To empirically validate this, the authors of this paper utilized fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis in conjunction with Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling techniques. The study's results indicate that there exists a relationship between key variables such as supply chain 4.0, supply chain risk management, supply chain integration, supply chain resilience (antecedents), and HSCOE (consequent). Additionally, the study identifies which antecedents are sufficient and necessary.
