Acid‐Base‐Titration of a System Subdivided by a Semipermeable Membrane

Abstract: The theory of acid‐base‐titration is extended to systems subdivided into two compartments by a semipermeable membrane. Equal temperature of the outer phases, as well as ideal solutions are assumed. The membrane shall be impermeable to the ions constituting the “precipitation membrane”. It is shown that a neutral salt can adequately titrate the system.
