Acidic Exopolysaccharide Produced from Marine Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 3MS 2017 for the Protection and Treatment of Breast Cancer

Abstract: Purpose: This study was planned to investigate the anti-breast-cancer property of acidic exopolysaccharide produced from marine Bacillus amyloliquefaciens 3MS 2017 (BAEPS) in an animal model, which previously showed in-vitro anti-breast-cancer activity, by studying its potential participation in various targeted mechanisms. Methods: Mammary carcinoma in female Sprague-Dawley rats, both in prophylactic and in curative designs, was chemically induced using 7,12-dimethylebenz-(a)-anthracene (DMBA). B. amyloliquef… Show more

“…While TGF-β1 positive cells significantly reduced in treated groups which specify that Myrrh suppresses DEN induced hepatocarcinogenesis by its inhibitory effects on HSC activation through suppressing TGF-β1 expression (El-Shahat et al, 2012). CEA tumor marker is a glycoprotein that acts as a cell adhesion factor and is increased in the circulation due to a weakness of cell connection through tumor growth (Yoshikawa et al, 2017, Ibrahim et al, 2020. Subsequently, CEA typically occurs at very low levels in the blood.…”

“…These effects were partially confirmed by Abou Zaid et al [ 48 ], who found variation in the architecture of the DMBA mammary gland tissues, ranging from hyperplasia to anaplasia in the lining epithelium of the acini. Also, Ibrahim et al [ 49 ] research discovered the capability of DMBA to increase the proliferation of rat breasts. Contrariwise, the study clarified that Chia oil encapsulation improved the tissue architecture of breast tumor animals.…”
