Abstract:This study was conducted to investigate the acoustic characteristics of largehead hairtails (Trichiurus japonicus) in the Southern Sea of South Korea from April 2022, using 18, 38, 70, 120, and 200 kHz split-beam echosounders. At two stations, juvenile (preanal length: 3.2 cm–5.8 cm) and immature (preanal length: 13.0 cm–26.0 cm) hairtails were caught by midwater trawling.
