Abstract:Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors in tunable oscillator configuration, with a deposited polymeric layer, were used to investigate the layer’s impact on the oscillator’s resonant frequency. The SAW oscillators were tuned by means of variable loop amplification. Full-range amplification variation led to a resonant frequency increase of ~1.7 MHz due to the layer’s nonlinear reaction. The layer’s morphology and location resulted in a specific resonant frequency–amplitude dependence. Five types of layers were use… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
