Actinic Cheilitis: Efficacy and Cosmetic Results

Abstract: Actinic cheilitis (AC) is a common disease caused by long-term solar exposure and is considered a premalignant lesion of the lips. AC has potential to develop into squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and metastasis. SCC of the lip arising from AC is more prone to metastasis than cutaneous form with rates of the former varying between 3% and 20% and is the most common malignancy of the oral cavity.
