Abstract:Actinlike material was obtained from disrupted Pseudomonas aeruginosa cells by a modification of the method of Hancock and Nikaido (J. Bacteriol. 136:381-390) for isolating outer membrane vesicles. Pelleted membranes were dissolved in Laemmli sample buffer and electrophoresed in parallel lanes with purified rabbit skeletal muscle actin. The bacterial preparation migrated similarly to rabbit skeletal muscle actin. A doublet band was detectable by affinity-purified antiactin antibody in a passive transfer immuno… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
