Abstract: Streptococcus pneumoniae(pneumococcus) is a leading cause of pneumonia in older adults. Successful control of pneumococci requires robust pulmonary neutrophil influx early in infection. However, aging is associated with aberrant neutrophil recruitment and the mechanisms behind that are not understood.
