Activation of extracellular matrix metalloproteinases in equine laminitis

Abstract: Samples of connective tissue obtained from the hoof of six laminitic and eight non-laminitic adult horses were analysed zymographically to investigate whether connective tissue matrix metalloproteinases are activated or induced during laminitis.
