Abstract:This study is focused on the effect of the light source (LEDs emitting visible and UV-A light) on the activation of photo-Fenton processes for the Fe 3+ -iminodisuccinic acid/H 2 O 2 catalytic system. The catalyst enables visible light for the hydroxyl radical's formation by H 2 O 2 conversion. This study shows, for the first time, the central role of visible light to accelerate the process kinetics favoring the complete degradation of a probe molecule ([gallic acid] = 25.0 mg L −1 (0.147 mM)), in water soluti… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
