Active vibration control of large space flexible slewing truss using cable actuator with input saturation

Abstract: Summary This paper proposes a composite approach to implementing attitude tracking and active vibration control of a large space flexible truss system. The system dynamic model is based on Hamilton's principle and discretized using the finite difference method. A nonlinear attitude controller for position tracking is developed based on the input‐output linearization of the discretized system, which can effectively improve system performance compared with a traditional proportional‐differential feedback control… Show more

“…Among various feedback control methods, because the structure of the single-link flexible manipulator is relatively simple, model-based control methods have been widely studied, such as singular perturbation method, 1517 sliding mode control, 1820 robust control, 21,22 LQR, 23,24 etc. In these literatures, the mathematical model of flexible manipulator is established by homogeneous beam or concentrated mass.…”

“…At present, many types of actuators are used to suppress the active vibrations of large flexible structures, including piezoelectric patches, 3,4 piezoelectric stacks, 5-10 voice coils, 11-13 air thrusters 14 and cables. 15,16 Piezoelectric stack actuators have advantages of wideband action, simplicity, reliability, compactness, portability, low power consumption and easy application. 2 As a result, we chose this type for this study.…”
