Abstract:α-Lipoic acid (LA) is a cofactor functioning in four multienzymes: pyruvate dehydrogenase, α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase, branched-chain α-keto acid dehydrogenase, and the glycine cleavage enzyme systems.
