Activity coefficients of the low-molecular-mass components in swelling polymers

Abstract

Solutions in which low molecular mass substances and a swelling polymer form a homogeneous system have been studied. A method for predicting the activity and osmotic coefficients during variation in the solute concentration has been proposed. The dependence of the osmotic coefficients on the solution con centration, in conjunction with volumetric changes in the system and the swelling pressure, has been ana lyzed.
